Hello everyone, today I will talk about some changes to my study programme.
First, I study BA on Plastics Arts in University de Chile. The Faculty of Arts is famous for precarious infraestructure. Some days ago, the students protested against this. The classrooms and library floods in winter and never anyone does anything for solve it.
Maybe, the money is reversed in technology. In the faculty, we have many Apple PC's and technological devices for the students that choose Photography or any similar area but others specialties can be very poor and not even has security methods.
Anyway, the precariousness is an advantage when leaving at the university, because is very hard that you have a MAC or moderns machines for do art. We learn to do art with the most artisan methods and we understand the essence of how these work.
Despite of this, the teaching methods are very well, the teachers and the vision of art in the faculty is the most adapted to my thoughts (to difference with art in UC), in my specialty (engraved) the classes are very personalized, depends of what each student is doing.
I would like that teoric subjects can be most relationated with the practic subjects, that the specialty not be only learn about the technique and nothing more, if not link with bibliography or theory.
Something that I detest is the administration. The information lost or they are indifferent about all. I think that for a bad administration the faculty is so precarious. I hoping that change promptly or
maybe the faculty will be obsolete.
Well, I finished, good bye!
Would be very sad that our faculty will be obsolete :(, I hope this don't happen
